God Never Tells Us

God never tells us
to slight and mistreat a fellow Christian,
or to be puffed up as though on our own mission.
God never tells us
to lie and gossip, as we may dare be so bold,
but rather, be kind, patiently loving God's saints within His fold.

God never tells us
to give expecting something back for our deed,
or to seek our own as though we alone are in need.
God never tells us
to show favoritism, leaving out the rest,
but rather, seek to bless The Body, a far nobler and rewarding quest.

God never tells us
to judge each other and to be the first to cast the stone,
or to rejoice in another's weakness, not clearly seeing our own.
God never tells us
to think evil as though we never sin,
but rather, rejoice in Truth, desiring to see all of God's people win.
