Feast of Our Lady of Fatimah

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Fatimah

We celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13th. On this day in 1917, Our Lady made her first appearance to three shepherd children, Jacinta (age 7), Francisco (age 9) and Lucia (age 10), at Fatima in Portugal.

She appeared to them once a month from May through October. The lives of the three children of Fatima were entirely transformed by the heavenly apparitions.

They abstained from innocent pleasures and urged one another to the practice of prayer and penance with an ardor comparable to that of the great saints.

A Joke from Papa

Papa went for treatment in the past 3 days.

During the second day of treatment, papa asked the nurse for a hot drink because at the treatment area, the air-con is very cold.
He asks for "milo" (papa speak in mandarin), the nurse start seaching for "pillow" and gave it to papa, he was wondering what is the pillow for, the nurse said this is what you are asking for!

Papa said "no", I want "Milo" drink....

The nurse then realised what is he asking for, and all of them start laughing.. hahahahaha...

You see even he is at the hospital, he makes people laugh.. he is such a wonderful father!

Psalms 91

1 Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, 2 can say to him, "You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust."
3 He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases.
4 He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.
5 You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day
6 or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight.
7 A thousand may fall dead beside you, ten thousand all around you, but you will not be harmed. 8 You will look and see how the wicked are punished.
9 You have made the Lord your defender, the Most High your protector,
10 and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home.
11 God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones. 13 You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
14 God says, "I will save those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as Lord. 15 When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honor them.
16 I will reward them with long life; I will save them."

Irish Blessing

May there always be work for your hands to do,
may your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane,
may a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you,
may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you

Manipulative Relationships

Fear of man is a dangerous trap.
Proverbs 29:25

When you enter any relationship, romantic, social, business or otherwise, be careful what you permit in the beginning because it'll come to be expected. For example, if you have to buy someone's friendship by letting them manipulate you, be prepared to keep paying. And don't plan on changing them. Just think how difficult it is to change yourself - so what are your chances of changing somebody else?
Decide now what you can live with later. And stop living like there's no tomorrow - because tomorrow always comes!
Solomon said, "Fear of man is a dangerous trap." Relationships can't thrive with one person calling all the shots while the other struggles for approval.
Paul said he had no interest in "trying to make people accept him." His only interest was pleasing God. (Galatians 1:10 ).
God will never ask you to violate your values or disobey His will just to be in the good graces of another person. In fact, it's better to be alone than to allow anyone other than God to control you. Let people know up front that while you'd like their approval you can live without it if you have to.
Respect others, and make it clear you expect the same in return.
Above all, never let emotion win out over wisdom, or drown out the voice of God in your life. When you're insecure you can be drawn into wrong relationships. Security is a fundamental part of your identity as God's child. Paul says you "are God's masterpiece… created… anew in Christ" (Ephesians 2:10 ).
God wants you free to be who you are. That's why when you ask Him to guide your relationships, He'll help you to form the right ones.
