Love, are you ready?

Today 28th sunday of ordinary time, my turn to do sharing in RCIA , it about the parable of wedding feast. God invite all to the wedding feast, there are three groups of people.

1)first group are invited guest but they absent, never attend the wedding feast, they are busy with their own business, they are not doing bad thing, but they miss out the joy of being there at the feast.

2) second group is the one at the feast without wedding garment, meaning he is not ready, even he is there but just for the sake of attending, not ready to repent and change.

3) third group are those who are ready to accpt God invitation , ready to have relationship with the Lord and help the needy.

Today I sense that something is not right with S & J, she admitted their relationship is shaking and not healthy, Lord, give me the wisdom to talk to her. Lord, please help her to see clearly, and lead her to a correct way. Amen!

Marriage and family

Tonight SFA start first night of triduum, theme is marriage and family by Msgr Francis Lau.

Catholics understand Christian marriage as a lifelong partnership between a baptized man and woman;

Marriage is a vocation;

It take 3 in a marriage, bride, bridegroom and God.

Catholics also look at marriage as a covenant rather than a contract.

A contract looks at whether or not a person has fulfilled certain legal stipulations (things),

while a covenant looks at personal commitment (people).

Unlike an civil marriage ceremony, a Catholic ceremony reminds couples that they will lead their lives together in a faith community.

Couples pledge themselves to the values of love, permanence and fidelity.

Ephesians 5:21-33

21 Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives should be subject to their husbands as to the Lord,
23 since, as Christ is head of the Church and saves the whole body, so is a husband the head of his wife;
24 and as the Church is subject to Christ, so should wives be to their husbands, in everything.
25 Husbands should love their wives, just as Christ loved the Church and sacrificed himself for her
26 to make her holy by washing her in cleansing water with a form of words,
27 so that when he took the Church to himself she would be glorious, with no speck or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and faultless.
28 In the same way, husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies; for a man to love his wife is for him to love himself.
29 A man never hates his own body, but he feeds it and looks after it; and that is the way Christ treats the Church,
30 because we are parts of his Body.
31 This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and the two become one flesh.
32 This mystery has great significance, but I am applying it to Christ and the Church.
33 To sum up: you also, each one of you, must love his wife as he loves himself; and let every wife respect her husband.
