A memorable year

Papa and Mama at courtyard of Merchant Court hotel, background is Singapore river and Clarke quay. Picture taken on 12/8/07

It is a special year for me this piggy year!

Papa is quite stable now after 6 cycle of chemo and 28 days of radiotherapy.

Mama is not so well, just brought her to see Dr Coleen Thomas today, she complained headache yesterday, I gave her 2 panadol, after that she has cold sweat and she said she can't taste the food, all the food she eats are tasteless, doctor said this may be due to the medicine she is taking now for the arthritis. After consulted the doctor and did a ECG, at least I know that she has no major problem, her ECG shown normal and blood test also good. So she can continue to take the arthritis medicines.

On 28/8/07, received news about my 4th sister suffer from a stroke, she is only 49 years old. God please hep her to recover soon. Her husband is a supervisor at construction site, her son is in N S, her daughter is only in secondary three. She cannot move her left arm and cannot walk straight, need assistance. I pray that God will heal her , she is a nice sister to me.

All these events, one after another, if not for the Grace of God, I could have collapsed already. God is so good, during this difficult time, my godsister Vera who is a nun in Ireland send me a prayer card .

"A prayer To Our Lady of Knock"

Our Lady of knock, queen of Ireland,

you gave hope to your people in a time of distress

and comforted them in sorrow.

You have inspired countless pilgrims

to pray with confidence to your divine Son.

remembering His promise,

"Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find"

Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims

on the road to heaven.

Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters

in Christ, especially those who live with me.

Comfort me when I am sick, lonely or depressed.

Teach me how to take part ever more reverently

in the Holy Mass.

Give me a greater love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Pray for me now and at the hour of my death.

Amen.
