FAITH'S STRUGGLE

When trials and tribulations come our way, we sometimes feel that our faith has reached its limits and our will to overcome has been defeated. We must always keep in mind the promise of the Lord and remember that He will never give us more than we are able to bear. Encourage yourself in the Lord's promise and continually stand strong and keep in mind that God knows the limits of your spirit and will never allow a trial that you are not able to overcome and be victorious over. (1 Corinthians 10:12-13) (Psalm 91:14-16)

I hope you are blessed and encouraged by today's message to trust in theLord's provision and know that it is God who goes before you to make your crooked paths straight. (Isaiah 42:16-21)

FAITH'S STRUGGLE

Things are getting piled up,
God I'm losing sight of who you are.
I go through the motions of living,
treating each day like the one before.

Each day is a test in patience,
a testing of my strength.
How much longer will you wait, Lord?
As of right now, I feel you're late.

"All in His time," is what people say
and I know that is true;
but with the way things are going
I've lost comfort in that too.

My hope is being shattered
by the things that press me down.
And my faith has begun to waver;
so like Peter I've started to drown.

I'm sailing a sea of lonesome
to an island of despair.
My ship has started sinking;
I see lightning in the air.

As your child I'm calling out to you,
please listen to my cry.
Answer my questions of wonder;
I'll wait for your reply.

Your answers mean so much to me;
it's your will I'm striving for.
If I could only see the shore more clearly
I might find the open door.

All the doors that I've come close to
have been shut right in my face.
What does it really mean when people
talk about your mercy and grace?

They say you understand,
after all that you've been through.
Well, please then, take my hand
and show me what it is I'm supposed to do.

If I am to wait longer, then give me patience;
if I am to trust, then give me faith;
because without you right beside me
this storm cannot be faced.

And sometimes we must step
through the mist and reach for the unknown.
Then when we reach dry land, Lord,
we'll see how much we've grown.

Sometimes you require a leap of faith;
though the shoreline is not clear;
but your grace and mercy are sufficient;
there is nothing I need fear.

Your love, it knows no limits,
and no other love compares.
Draw closer to me now, God,
and wash away my tears.

For I can rest in each tomorrow
if Your love is all I know;
So in the midst of the storms of life,
Lord, hold my hand and don't let go.
